One story, every source
We do not publish a separate item for every report. The CLSTR service groups reports from different outlets about the same event into a cluster, and we keep one page per event — a story.
How a story is put together
For each event we fetch the texts of several sources in different languages. Automated checks select sources with enough text of sufficient quality; the number of sources and publishers is shown in the Story pulse block.
The role of AI
The story text is prepared by a language model from the sources — in one request for both English and Russian. The model is a tool: software checks numbers and dates against the source texts and verifies structure, language and the absence of model boilerplate. A story that fails the required checks is not published.
Updates and “What changed”
When new sources report on the event, the story is updated: the page address and the original publication date stay the same, and the “What changed” block lists the new facts.
Original sources
Every story lists its sources: publisher, headline in the original language and publication time.
Editorial review
Stories are published automatically. If a story has been reviewed by the editors, this is marked on the page.
