Anthropic is preparing to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, a move that could give public investors their first direct chance to price a major standalone AI lab. CryptoBriefing reported that estimates of the company’s valuation have fallen from $2 trillion to between $1 trillion and $1.5 trillion.
What changes when Anthropic goes public
Anthropic has raised money in private markets, where investors have valued the company outside daily public trading. A Nasdaq listing would expose those assumptions to a share price that public investors can buy and sell each day, making the offering a visible measure of how markets value an AI business.
CryptoBriefing said Anthropic’s filing showed substantial revenue growth as well as significant losses, but gave no figures. Those two details point to the questions investors will weigh: how quickly the company is growing, and how that growth compares with its costs. The available information does not settle how the market will balance them.
The offering’s terms are still unclear. TheCoinRise said the exact listing date, expected price range, share count and size of XN’s planned purchase had not been disclosed in available reporting. Anthropic has not publicly confirmed all the terms described in those reports.
A test amid pressure on AI stocks
The timing comes as AI-linked stocks have recently sold off, according to TheCoinRise. The publication cited investor concerns about the cost of AI infrastructure and how long it may take for that spending to generate returns. It also pointed to questions about capital spending, chip demand and the ability to make money from generative AI tools.
Against that backdrop, TheCoinRise, citing Cryptopolitan and CryptoBriefing, reported that investment firm XN intends to buy more Anthropic shares around the IPO. The report did not specify the amount, and the plan is not confirmation of a final purchase. TheCoinRise said the listing could provide a reference point for the market’s valuation of generative AI companies during the downturn.
Anthropic develops the Claude family of AI models and markets its tools mainly to enterprise and developer customers, TheCoinRise reported. CryptoBriefing described the IPO as a test of how public investors value a major standalone AI lab. For those investors, the listing would bring a company’s private-market valuation into daily trading, while the reported sell-off provides a more cautious backdrop for that assessment.
