Lorenzo Musetti is scheduled to face France’s Luca Van Assche in the Paris Masters last 16 on November 5, after beating Alexander Zverev 7-6, 6-2. OA Sport described Zverev as the world No. 1; the Paris match gives Musetti a chance to build on that win against an opponent he met only two weeks ago.
Their previous meeting was a Lyon quarter-final, where Musetti won 7-6, 6-7, 6-4. That Lyon tournament also marked a return to the winners’ circle for the Italian: he claimed the ATP 250 title after more than four years without a trophy.
Van Assche, ranked No. 47 by the ATP, reached the Paris round of 16 with wins over Mariano Navone, 6-3, 7-5, and Learner Tien, 7-6, 6-4. His match against Tien lasted two hours and two minutes. The two players therefore come to the rematch through different recent results: Musetti’s win over Zverev and Van Assche’s pair of victories in Paris.
The match was listed as third on the central court, after Paul–Halys and Shelton–Rinderknech. Paul–Halys was scheduled for 11:00, but no exact start time was given for Musetti and Van Assche.
